Pretty straight forward.
I'd have a 228i (rather have a 220i, but you know) M-Sport. Estoril Blue over Black SensaTec (vinyl).
No options other than heated front seats ($500) and the Harman/Kardon Stereo ($875.)
Yes, it would be automatic. Because for daily commuting I'd rather have that.
Grand total:$37,970

M3 w/ Ceramics, manual, and adaptive suspension
$73,825 (FUCK that, way too expensive for ceramics)
Would find one used with the ceramics to get dat discount

I dunno how I feel about those rims. Their ceramic's are almost like Porsche levels of expensive. And I've read that they aren't drastically better than the steel rotors.

I want the base wheels, but you can't fit them with the ceramics. If I were paying for it I'd probably skip the ceramics. But then again I don't think I'd ever buy an M car new unless I had the cash to throw around.

No one buys an M3 new, they lease it then pay used price three years later.

With no budgetary constraints I would get one of these. Coming in at $145,375 with a manual transmission because why not and it just seems hilarious in this car. I would want to tint the windows and replace the chrome kidney grills with black ones.

It's called Austin Yellow Metallic. It's very similar to Phoenix Yellow, another Bmw color. It would look great on an M Coupe though.

Because brown, turbocharged, AWD, manual transmission 3 door hatchback... It's a BMW, still counts.
(Honestly, I'd personally go with a regular Cooper... Just thought AWD would be more Jalop).
If we're being literal with "BMW", then I'd go for one of these:
The forbidden fruit in America. 120d, 6 speed manual. Decent power, great MPG. Basically the baby brother of the old clownshoe Z3's shape-wise.
...I have an unholy obsession with 3 door hatches / shooting brakes.

They look really sleek but they are also really large. At almost 16.5 ft long, it is almost as large as most SUVs but the car is so low it will beat most people in a game of limbo. Also there is no crappy seat in this car. Calling shotgun has no meaning, I could/have slept in the back and would not complain about doing so again. Also front and rear heated seats are a godsend during winter.

We are planning on an X3 in the pretty near future. I was surprised to see that the MSport Line was gone as an option. It makes the car more affordable, but is disappointing. Here's what I was able to come up with based on current option packages.

The X3 has always been the most attractive CUV to me. RWD/AWD, looks good, nice size, and really not as ridiculously priced as one would think.

Agreed. My wife likes it a lot, it'll be hers mostly. We are considering the Evoque. It appears the M-Sport option will be available, but apparently not on the online configurator. I went and looked at the latest BMW USA Media Press release and it indicated the M-Sport is still around. It gives the vehicle a more aggressive look. There's no real gain in performance through.

Maybe they redesigned how the M-Sport package looks on the X3 and haven't been able to add it into the configurator yet. I dunno.

Yeah, but the E36 318ti was the unloved red-headed step child of the BMW lineup here. They didn't sell well, so they stopped bringing them over.

Because it was a downmarket BMW and that isn't a proper BMW. What is that, cloth interior? No heated seats? No straight six option, what is this sacrilege?
Maybe now that Germany lux marques are moving down market, the 1-series would work.

> Logansteno: Bought a VW?

That's what I'm hoping for... instead, they've re-labeled the 1er coupe and 'vert we get as the 2er, and are considering a FWD 1er if the CLA and Audi A3 sell well. Uggghhh.
Granted, I'm desperately hoping work moves me to Germany in the next few years... so, maybe then I can buy a 120d. :)

Heres mine, this is the new BMW I truly desire the most. Oh, and yes, I can buy it in any of the dealerships of my wonderful country.
BMW M135i 6 Speed Manual. Black with Red Interior, such a Sexy combination in an equally sexy 3 door hatchback. No safety aids for lane departure, or automatic parking. I can do the driving myself mind you. Oh, and obviously, a sunroof.
$58,000 Dollars. Lot of cash, but worth it.

Alternatively, I've got a friend in Phoenix who has family in Mexico... If I stay state-side, I kind of want to buy a 1er 3 door down there, and convince him to let me register it at his place, then drive it up here...
There's supposedly some way to get it registered up here, but if I can't then all I have to do is drive to Mexico a few times a year to keep the visa current. Not too difficult living in Phoenix.

They're just too... bright. I get blinded by cars that have them every time they drive past me. I'd feel guilty if I drove past, temporarily blinded a person, and they crash into a tree.

I currently own a '03 BMW 325ci as-is from the factory.
My plan, rather than buying a new car, is to modify it to resemble as closely as possible an Alpina B3. Alpina is a company that takes performance models of BMW's (I'm aware mine is not this, but it will do), tweak the styling, tune the bits, paint them blue (most of the time), and put huge multi-spoke Aplina wheels on them.
My car is currently Steel Grey Metallic, with 16", 5-spoke wheels. I've gone a budgeted getting clear indicators and reflectors to replace the orange bits, orange-less tail lights, 17" Style 73 20 spoke wheels, tint job, and the lip spoiler (pending decision on paint.)
Can't decide if I want to paint it blue or not. Expensive.. but so is everything else.
What I have and what I want.

I think you're right. It just gives that edgy look. My buddy has a 328i with the M-Sport line and it is very sharp. Aggressive. Not an old lady BMW.
